Full Text:
Lord–
how often we steward
this creation we were given,
this earth entrusted to us,
as if we know better.
may we have eyes
to see this world
as beautiful–
that the sacredness
it once held
remains.
how often we believe
you don’t care to care
for your tender creation–
yet you sent your son
to restore all things
on this earth.
may we be your hands
of tender care,
and see you everywhere
we look in this beautiful
world.
how we might look
around us and see
your glory among us,
from the smallest flower
to the tallest mountain–
it all sings your praise.
may our lives
be an offering, a song–
a slice of heaven here
on our beautiful earth.
