1 O my God, show mercy to me;
they would take my life away.
2 Hostile forces press upon me
and pursue me all the day.
3 When I am afraid, I trust you.
4 O Most High, I praise your word;
I will trust and not be fearful.
What can they do to me, Lord?
5 All day long they plot to harm me,
twisting everything I say.
6 They conspire, they lurk, they trail me,
keen to take my life away.
7 Repay them for their many crimes;
bring the nations down, O Lord.
8 You put my tears in your bottle;
are they not in your record?
9 When I call on you, foes retreat.
10 O Most High, I praise your word;
11 I will trust and not be fearful.
What can they do to me, Lord?
