Drama Script (DRA020) Is He Lord? © Jane Hulme 2015 Aim of Script: Use of Script: Main themes: Biblical references: Cast: Props: DRAMA: “IS HE LORD?” (DRA020) To encourage Christians to offer every part of themselves and their lives to the Lord. In an All Age Worship service the script could be preceded by teaching that having invited Jesus to be our Saviour, we also need to allow Him to be our Lord, and reign over every part of us. The script could be followed by an invitation to people to surrender every part of themselves to the Lord, in prayer. Lordship of Christ, Surrender Romans 6:11-13 Mouth 1, Mouth 2, Eye 1, Eye 2, Hand 1, Hand 2, Heart 1, Heart 2, Narrator Two large identical pictures of mouths that Mouth 1 and Mouth 2 hold in front of their faces, Two large identical pictures of eyes that Eye 1 and Eye 2 hold in front of their faces, Two large identical pictures of hands that Hand 1 and Hand 2 hold in front of their faces, Two large identical pictures of hearts that Heart 1 and Heart 2 hold in front of their faces. NOTE: The words for the drama could be written on the back of the pieces of paper that are being held. ........................................................................................................................ (Enter Mouth 1 and Mouth 2. They stand next to each other) Mouth 1: Mouth 2: Mouth 1: Mouth 2: I enjoy a good old gossip with my friends at work. When others gossip, I try not to join in and remain silent although it is very hard. If I dislike something I don’t see why I can’t have a big moan about it. It’s hard to be thankful when things are tough but I try to stay thankful for all that God has done for me. (Exit Mouths and enter Eyes) Eye 1: Eye 2: Eye 1: Eye 2: I watch anything I want to on television – it won’t affect me. I am very careful what I watch on television as I don’t want to fill my mind with bad images. If I don’t like the look of someone I don’t see why I should bother with them. I won’t judge people by their appearance, as I can so easily make mistakes and not see what the Master sees. © Jane Hulme 2015 2 (Exit eyes and enter hands) Hand 1: Hand 2: I like to do as I please. So this Saturday, I’ll be staying in bed all morning, going to the gym all afternoon and then heading out to the cinema in the evening. The rest of the family can clean up the house after Friday night’s party. I will serve when I have the opportunity to. So this Saturday I will be cleaning up the house after Friday night’s party and then helping dad with the gardening as he has a bad back. (Exit hands and enter hearts) Heart 1: Heart 2: Heart 1: Heart 2: (Exit hearts.) Narrator: I love shopping....there is nothing better than the thrill of buying something new. I also love David Beckham....what a hunk.....perhaps I love him more than shopping. I love Jesus.......who else would die for me? What love, what kindness. He has become my first love. I will not forgive people who have hurt me. I will continually dwell on the hurt, and look for ways of getting my own back. I will choose to forgive people who hurt me, although forgiving others is so hard. I will choose to forgive because I have been forgiven. “Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness” - Romans chapter six, verse thirteen © Jane Hulme 2015 3
