Short Talk (SHT001) We are all loved by God © Jane Hulme 2015 Aim of Short talk: Main themes: Biblical references: Before the service: (SHT001) To teach that each person is uniquely created by God and loved by Him. God’s love Isaiah 64:8, Colossians 1:16b, Psalm 145:17 Ask three children of different age groups to be willing to help you when you call them up later in the service. Tell them you will be asking them 3 questions – i) what their favourite food is, ii) their best subject at school and iii) what they enjoy doing when they are not at school eg hobbies, sport etc. SHORT TALK: “WE ARE ALL LOVED BY GOD” ........................................................................................................................ Would the three children I spoke to earlier like to come and join me up here?  I am going to ask each of you three questions about yourself..... So question number 1: “What is your favourite food?” (Accept answers from all 3 children.)  We all like different things to eat don’t we? Question number 2: “What is your best subject at school?” (Accept answers from all 3 children.)  We are all good at different things aren’t we? And finally Question number 3: “What do you enjoy doing when you are not at school?” (Accept answers from all 3 children.)  We all enjoy doing different things don’t we? God has made each one of us completely different....  He hasn’t simply made us look different with some of us short and some of us tall,  some of us with brown hair and some of us with ginger hair;  but God has also made us different in the things that we like and don’t like,  and the things that we are good at and not so good at. There is a verse in the book of Isaiah from chapter 64 that says, “Yet O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand” (Isaiah 64:8)  It is like God is a master potter with his clay (You might like to project a picture of a potter sitting at his wheel with clay)  and he chooses to create a master piece every time he makes one of us.  We are all originals.......and so we are priceless! With over 7 billion people living on earth, no two people have the same set of fingerprints,  We are all one of a kind. Now a question for the congregation.....  Looking at these three children, which one do you think Father God loves the best?  Is it the child who is good at .......?  Or is it the child who looks like.......?  Or is it the child who is best behaved? © Jane Hulme 2015 2 The wonderful thing about God being our Heavenly Father is that he doesn’t have any favourites!  Each one of us is precious to him  So he loves you (point at 1st child)  He loves you (point at 2nd child)  He loves you and (point at 3rd child)  He loves each one of you. (point at congregation) God loves each one of us so much that He wants to have a relationship with us;  so don’t let anyone tell you that you are no good,  or worthless,  or that you would have been better tall or short,  fat or thin.....  because you are God’s master piece,  and you are precious to Him. People around you might criticize you,  the world might tell you that you have to do all sorts of things to fit in,  but your Heavenly Father says, “I made you, I love you and you belong to me”  so let’s live in that truth.
