How We Worship

July 18, 2014   •   Psalm 98 & Colossians 3:16-17

In one of his books – a book about the mission of the church, no less – theologian John Piper begins with this arresting statement: “Mission isn't the highest priority of the church; worship is. Mission exists because worship doesn't.” The most important thing Christians do isn't what they do for the world, it's what they do for God. The greatest thing God wants from us is not our service, it's our love, expressed in worship. So today on Groundwork let's discuss the Lord's Supper, sermons, music and more as we learn from Psalm 98 and Colossians 3:16-17 what’s involved in worship that is both pleasing to God and satisfying to us.
