My friend Victoria Emily Jones does great blogging at ‘Art & Theology.” she made this recent post:

The Unnamed Emmaus Disciple: Mary, wife of Cleopas?
https://artandtheology.org/2017/04/28/the-unnamed-emmaus-disciple-mary-wife-of-cleopas/

Go there to read about this topic, and see paintings she has chosen by five artists.  One of them, Cerezo Barredo, is a Claretian priest and artist born in Spain who has traveled extensively in Latin America. Victoria has brought together his 3 color paintings of the Emmaus story into her blog post above. I’ve put them plus others in separate blog posts, including 1 above

Victoria’s post introduced me to the art of J. Barry Motes which I like a lot. “His Supper at Yummaus takes place at a rest-stop food court, and Christ’s blessing is pronounced over KFC combos. The painting is part of Motes’s Sacred Stories series, which translates biblical narratives into contemporary settings, using friends, family, and students as models.“
